I see so many business owners who are so busy with meetings, and customers, and reports and so on that they take their eyes off the critical numbers – or worse, never pay attention to them in the first place – and the results can be disastrous. At best, your business won’t grow. At worst, it will crash and burn
What numbers am I talking about? Well the first number you need to focus on is the number of enquiries or leads you are getting in your business.
- You want to know your daily, weekly and monthly number of enquiries.
- You want to compare those enquiries against your projections.
- And you want to know the trend of those enquiries. Up or down or level?
You must know these numbers in order to be able to do something about them. It’s no good waiting until the end of the year to find out the numbers didn’t go as you had planned.
So, ask yourself this: do I pay enough attention to the numbers in my business? Whatever you focus on, whatever you demand information on, will improve. You may have heard the saying “what gets measured, gets managed” – and it’s so true. So if you start paying attention, you start to have a choice about what you will do about the numbers you can see……
