There are two ways to grow a business. There’s the easy way, and the hard way.
Most business owners try to do it the hard way. Because they don’t know any different.
There are 7 numbers you need to measure, track and manage in your business if you really want to grow it. These represent the ‘7 Profit Zones’ in your business.
The most basic way to grow your business is to increase the number of enquiries (profit zone no.1) and increase the percentage of those you convert into paying customers or clients (profit zone no.2). Those new customers buy things and increase your turnover and profitability. So far, so good.
But it may surprise you to know this is the HARD way, not the easy way. Let me explain….
What if you want to grow your business by, say, 80% this year? If you approach this the hard way, that means you need to get 80% more clients or customers. If you have a conversion rate of 1 in 3 (33%), that means you need to find 240% more enquiries to get 80% more customers or clients.
That is a lot of new enquiries…… requiring a lot of work (or at least a big marketing budget). Instead, why not do it the easy way? Instead of looking for 240% more enquiries, why not get 10% more enquiries and convert 10% more of them into new customers. That will give you 20% more customers than you had before.
So what about the rest of the 60% growth? Well if you grow each of the other 5 Profit Zones in your business by 10% as well then the cumulative effect of that could be growth of 80% or more.
And I think you’ll agree that putting 10% growth on each area is much easier than finding 240% more enquiries for your business?
