Whenever you start a journey in your business or personal life you have a choice to make… do you want to follow in the footsteps of others, or do you want to find your own way?
Whilst on a long beach walk (near Cadiz in Spain), it struck me how much easier it is to walk in the footprints others have created. The sand was firmer in those footprints, which meant I didn’t sink with each step. So it was quicker and took less effort.
These benefits are relevant for a business journey too.
Personally, I prefer to start any new business journey by ‘standing on the shoulders of giants’ – i.e. following a proven pathway that has worked for others. Once that pathway is showing results, I can add my own ‘variations’ later.
This is why I’ve always had a business coach or mentor since I started my business 14 years ago and will continue to do so. Experts who can show me a proven pathway cut down my trial and error and speed up my results.

Do they understand law firms/have they practised as a lawyer?
