You’ve decided to set aside 90 minutes today to focus on growing your practice – perhaps it’s that new marketing strategy you want to implement, or you’re looking at ways to improve the conversion of enquiries into paying clients.
You sit down to start.
Team members interrupt you.
The inbox keeps “pinging” with demands for your attention.
Before you know it, your 90 minutes is up and you’ve been ‘busy’ with other people’s agendas and made no progress of your own.
Does this sound familiar?
One way to fix this is to get out of your office.
Go somewhere quiet, where you can focus without distractions.
It could be outside your office completely (e.g. at home or in a quiet coffee shop) or it could be a meeting room elsewhere in your office building.
Once you’re there, switch off your phone and emails for just 90 minutes, just as you would if you were in a meeting with me or with a client (you’ll have noticed that the world doesn’t end when you’re unavailable for 90 minutes in a client meeting, so you can be fairly sure the same applies when you’re in a meeting with yourself, working on your practice growth!).
You’ll be amazed at how much you can get done in 90 minutes of uninterrupted time.
And if you can do this every week, spending the time on growing your practice, you’ll see a massive difference in your results at the end of the year.
So if you want to grow your practice then get out of the office so you can have uninterrupted time to focus on what’s important to YOU.
If you’re not sure what you should be focusing ON when you have uninterrupted time, then you need to create a specific plan of what to do and in what order. That way, when you sit down to your 90 minutes, you don’t need to spend time working out what to do, you can just get on with doing it.
