What’s your view on the Einstein quote “Insanity is doing the same thing, over and over again, and expecting different results”…?
I think it’s true.
If you want different results, you have to do things differently.
But sometimes it’s not just about doing things differently, it’s about thinking differently.
Which brings me to another great quote that I think rings true: “Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you’re right” (Henry Ford).
Much as we might like to think that ‘mindset’ is just a wishy-washy, touchy-feely thing, trumped by concrete things like ‘action’, ‘skills’ and ‘strategy’, I believe the way we think (and what we believe we can or can’t do) has a powerful influence over the results we get.
Which is why I believe that setting a vision or goal for what you really want to achieve (not just what you think you might be able to achieve) is so important.
Contrary to what many people assume, thinking big isn’t about setting yourself up for failure… it’s about stretching yourself to success.
And what holds many people back from thinking big, and setting a ‘stretch’ goal, is they don’t know what’s possible…
They doubt what they can achieve as the leader/CEO of their business (Mindset). Or they doubt what’s possible for their business because they don’t yet know ‘how’ to achieve it (Mastery). So they keep repeating what they’ve always done whilst hoping for a different result (Madness).
If you’re in this cycle, and want to break it, you need to start thinking differently so you can act differently.
Maybe the catalyst for this is getting a fresh perspective on what’s possible in your firm or practice.
I can help you get a fresh perspective on what’s possible in your firm or practice, so you can start thinking and doing things differently.
Spend a day with me (and a small group of other small firm owners) at my ‘Profitable Practice Secrets’ workshop where we’ll work together to analyse your firm or practice – and see what’s really possible in terms of getting new clients, increasing your profits and reducing your working hours. Then I’ll help you create a bespoke plan to make that happen and you’ll start to work on the strategies and skills you need to implement that plan successfully.
